FORMBOOKS ARRIVE LATE IN FINAL HOME GAME
Fry's final home game in the Bristol and District League a clash of teams at opposite ends of the table as champions Fry's hosted relegated Keynsham 'C'. The form book took a few ends to arrive as Keynsham took the early lead on all rinks leaving Fry's shotless. Two formbooks showed up shortly after as Fry's quickly pulled away on rink 3, with rink 1 taking a more steady approach in building their lead. Rink 2 saw Keynsham leading to the halfway point against a struggling Fry's rink, but Fry's got themselves back into the game, eventually taking the rink win. With the other 2 rinks a formality, Fry's passed the 70 shot mark for the first time this season taking another 10 points from the 75-27 win. Scores: Rink 1: 25-9; Rink 2: 17-10; Rink 3: 33-8; Fry's 75-27 Keynsham 'C' (10-0).
FRY'S REIGN AT IMPERIAL
Promotion chasing Imperial were the hosts for the visit of newly crowned champions Fry's. Imperial's artificial surface had proved challenging for most teams in the league with Imperial on good form at home. However, Fry's regualr experience on rink proved vital as they kept Imperial at bay with rink 3 taking a lead. Rink 2 was back and forth, while a tight game on rink 1 was in constant balance. Fry's maintained a lead of around 10 shots, but with Imperial moving ahead on rink 2, the game could have gone either way. Fry's came back on rink 2 taking a lead into final end. Facing match down, Fry's skip gained the shot to take the rink. Rink 1 edged away late closing out the deal, and with rink 3 staying ahead, Fry's took a 51-36 victory with another 10 points. Scores: Rink 1: 13-8; Rink 2: 16-13; Rink 3: 22-15; Fry's 51-36 Imperial (10-0).
WEDMORE PLATE RUN COMES TO END
A disappointing end saw Fry's go out of the Wedmore Plate at the quarter final stage at home to Weston Bath. A dreak night led to some early rain as Weston Bath would edge ahead. With Fry's pulling out a 16 shot lead to start, it kept Fry's in the game. That lead on rink 4 quickly evaporated and with the other rinks struggling, Weston Bath took a 85-60 win to advance to the semi-final.
FRY'S TAKE DIVISION 3 TITLE
Fry's went into the game against Page Park 'B' knowing 10 points would see them lift the division 3 title. An early downpour played into Fry's favour as Page Park struggled on rink 1 and 3. A tight game on rink 2 went the way of Fry's as they pulled away after the halfway point. With any comeback left a little too late, Fry's won 62-37, taking the 10 points required to take the title and promotion back to division 2 with three games to spare. Scores: Rink 1: 24-11; Rink 2: 17-13; Rink 3: 21-13; Fry's 62-37 Page Park 'B' (10-0).
FRYS EDGE CLOSER TO TITLE
Fry's took a big step towards the Bristol and District League Division 3 title with another maximum at Keynsham 'B'. Another dominant saw Fry's make the brighter start, but Keynsham would threaten to take points away from the visitors around the halfway stage. The threat would never materialise as Fry's held their ground, pulling away towards the end taking another 10 points from the 67-30 win. Fry's are 22 points clear of St Anne's Park in 2nd with a game in hand and 31 points clear on Imperial in 3rd off level games. Scores: Rink 1: 20-10; Rink 2: 24-13; Rink 3: 23-7; Fry's 67-30 Keynsham 'B' (10-0).
LAST BOWL HEARTBREAK FOR FRY'S
Fry's lost out on a place in the City and County of Bristol Clarence Davey Plate final on the last bowl in the semi-final at Victoria Park Monday night. After a slightly controversial start with a mix up on who should have the jack first, rink 2 started brightly for the visitors as they stormed away. With the rinks 3 and 4 falling behind, Fry's could not shake off the home side. After the halfway stage, Victoria Park found their way back into the game on rink 2 which saw Victoria Park take a late lead. Heading into the final end, Fry's required 3 shots to take the match. With Fry's skip finding a way into the head with both bowls to hold match, Victoria Park's skip edged the jack over to their own bowl to take the match and a place in the final 74-71.
DISAPPOINTMENT IN ALSOP
A disappointing night saw Keynsham regain the Alsop Shield. An early controversial start was even, with Fry's wrongly put a few shots behind where they should be. It proved not to matter in the end as 3 rinks were tight, but a poor game on rink 2 for Fry's gave Keynsham the victory.
A TIGHT MAXIMUM AT HENLEAZE
A trip to Henleaze 'B proved challenging but Fry's came away with another 10 points. Fry's took rink 1 comfortable and rink 2 looked good, until Henleaze got back into the game. Going into the last end 5 up, Fry's were able to contain the count as the took the rink by 3. Rink 3 was tight all the way, coming down to the last end. Fry's took the end seeing Fry's take another maximum with a 65-40 scoreline. Scores: Rink 1 29-9; Rink 2: 19-16; Rink 3: 17-15; Fry's 65-40 Henleaze 'B' (10-0).
FRY'S REACH AREA FINAL IN WEDMORE
The second round of the Wedmore Plate saw Fry's travel to Frome Selwood for the first match between the clubs for many years. After a tight start, but Fry's would edge away to lead at the halfway stage. Fry's would hold the lead heading into the closing stages, but Frome Selwood closed the gap eventually taking the lead with the ends dying out. Fry's weren't done though as the penultimate ends would see Fry's close the gap to head into final ends with a slender lead. Rinks 1 and 4 traded singles leaving Fry's one shot up with rink 2 to finish, but with Frome Selwood having won the extra end, Fry's had to win the final end. With Fry's lead and two putting bowls around the jack, Fry's held on to the two shots to giving them a 58-55 win and will now face Weston Bath. Score: Fry's 58-55 Frome Selwood.
FRY'S THROUGH IN WEDMORE PLATE
Intermittent rain was the theme of the night as Fry's travelled to Paulton in their opening match of the Somerset Bowls Association Wedmore Plate. Fry's went into the lead with a couple of rinks pulling way, but Paulton countered as the closed the gap. However, Fry's would pull away after the halfway point easing the pressure as Fry's would win 3 of the 4 rinks taking the match 78-57. Fry's will now face Frome Selwood on Tuesday 22nd July.
8 POINTS AFTER AVONMOUTH SCARE
Fry's extended their lead at the top of table on a warm night at Avonmouth. A tricky green was not to the liking of the visitors, but the at didn't stop rink 1 taking an early lead, seeing that lead halved on one end with Avonmouth picking up 5 shots, before promptly continuing the onslaught as the kept pulling away. However, with the deficit was closed as Avonmouth found some rhythm on rink 2 and keeping it tight on rink left Fry's an uncomfortable middle phase. Rink 1 would settle the nerves, pulling away again and helping Fry's to the win. The remaining points looked liked Avonmouth would pick them up with both rinks 2 and 3 going into the last ends 2 shots up on Fry's. Rink 3 went the way of Avonmouth picking up a single. A change of tactics had seen Fry's pull back on rink 2 setting up a tense final end. Some excellent leading and a good bowl from Fry's number 3 saw Fry's hold a close 2 shots with the skips to bowl. With Fry's skip nowhere close, a poor shot decision from Avonmouth saw them knock up Fry's thirds bowl to count for a tight third shot. With no change on the final two bowls, Fry's took the extra two points, picking up 8 point from the 64-42 win. With Imperial failing to pick up any points, Fry's extended their lead at the top of the table. Scores: Rink 1: 38-14; Rink 2: 15-14; Rink 3: 11-4; Fry's 64-42 Avomouth (8-2).
FRY'S THROUGH TO TRIPLES LEAGUE CUP FINAL
Fry's reached the final of Triples League Cup on Tuesday in the semi-final against Victoria Park (Bristol). A good performance saw Fry's come out winners by 9 shots and will now face Keynsham in the final in September.
COMMANDING WIN OVER ARDAGH
The second half of the Bristol and District League season saw Fry's welcome Ardagh. On a quicker green, the game was over as a contest fairly early as Fry's took control of the match on rinks 1 and 2. Rink 3 was a more cagey encounter as both sides spent the opening ends trading shots, with neither team gaining an advantage. After the halfway stage, Fry's took a run of ends, which gave them the lead of 3 shots going into the last end. A good draw from Fry's number 3 finished off the game as Fry's took 10 points from a commanding 78-29 win. Scores: Rink 1: 28-10; Rink 2: 32-6; Rink 3: 18-13; Fry's 78-29 Ardagh (10-0).
FRY'S OUT OF TURNBULL CUP
The opening round of the Somerset Turnbull Cup saw Fry's face Knowle at Somerdale. The visitors took an early advantage on rink 4, seeing Knowle ahead at the halfway stage. Hopes of a Fry's comeback were dashed as rink 1 struggled to pick up shots as Knowle would eventually take all 4 rinks and a 81-41 win. Scores: Rink 1: 10-27; Rink 2: 11-16; Rink 3: 13-15; Rink 4: 7-23; Fry's 41-81 Knowle.

FRY'S TOP AT HALFWAY STAGE
The first half of the Bristol and District League season came to an end with Fry's welcoming fourth placed St Anne's Park. After a close start, rinks 2 and 3 were a formality for the home side as both rinks would close out good wins. With the match sorted, rink 1 was a different story as both sides traded singles for the opening ends. Fry's then strung a few ends together to pull out a lead, only to let that slip as St Anne's moved ahead. Fry's weren't done as they edged back, finding themselves 3 down on the final end. With one bowl left and holding 2 shots, Fry's skip went to trail the jack back for a possible 4 shots to win the rink. Fry's skip picked the jack up cleanly, only to fall a yard short of the winning shot, but taking it too far for Fry's still to lie 2 shots, giving St Anne's 2 points with Fry's picking up 8 points to finish the first half of the season top of the table, 13 points clear of Imperial. Scores: Rink 1: 14-15; Rink 2: 26-7; Rink 3: 21-8 Fry's 61-30 St Anne's Park (8-2).
CLOSE BUT NOT ENOUGH IN LLOYD TROPHY
Fry's gave Keynsham a good run in their Bristol and District League Lloyd Trophy 1st round match. Fry's second trip to Keynsham in less than a week didn't start as planned with rinks 1 and 3 falling behind in the early stages. Rink 2 was more successful for the visitors as they pulled out a lead. Rink 1 started to pull back after the halfway stage, which saw Fry's close to within a few shots. Fry's were unable to pull those shots back as Keynsham edged away to 46-39 win.
8 POINTS FOR FRY'S AT KEYNSHAM 'C'
Fry's stayed top of the Bristol and District League Division 3 despite a dropping points to Imperial in the match at bottom club Keynsham 'C'. A slow start from Fry's gave some early nerves, but once rink 2 found their groove, they pulled away to a comfortable win. With the overall match sorted, attention turned to the other 2 rinks for the remaining 4 points. Rink 2 found ways to pick up the shots. Fry's helped their cause with a 5 on the third to last end as they held on to win by 7 shots. Rink 3 saw Fry's 5 shots up with 2 ends left. A good 3 from Keynsham left the rink in the balance. With Fry's holding shot, the Keynsham skip sent the jack to the left edge of the rink which saw Keynsham hold 2 shots with plenty of room around the jack. Fry's skips' first bowl fell short but outside the rink. Keynsham added a third with their last bowl, still with plenty of room around the jack. Fry's last bowls would again fall short giving Keynsham the final 2 points seeing Fry's take 8 points from the 69-38 win. Scores: Rink 1: 21-14; Rink 2: 32-7; Rink 3: 16-17; Fry's 69-38 Keynsham 'C' (8-2).

Scores: Rink 1: 17-18; Rink 2: 16-30; Rink 3: 21-7; Fry's 54-55 St Anne's Park (2-10).
FRY'S EXTEND LEAD AT TOP
Fry's extended their lead at the top of the table with a 10-0 win over second placed Imperial. The game wasn't smooth however, as the early lead built up by rinks 2 and 3 closed up after the halfway point. Rink 2 retained a comfortable lead, with rink 1 battling to get their noses in front. A late 6 for Imperial on rink 3 saw them take the lead, but Fry's would close out the game on the final 2 ends, as Fry's took a 63-36 win to extend their lead to 17 points. Scores: Rink 1: 18-12; Rink 2: 25-11; Rink 3: 20-13; Fry's 63-36 Imperial (10-0).

FRY'S KEEP TURNING PAGES AT THE PARK
Fry's continued their good form in the trip to Page Park 'B'. After the opening ends, Fry's soon pulled away on rinks 1 and 2, but it was different on rink 3 as they struggled in the early ends. With rinks 1 and 2 continuing to pull away, Rink 3 found their way back into the game, pulling into a lead. With the game sowed up, the extra two points were in the balance as Page Park closed the gap again. The rink came down to final end with Fry's 1 shot up. With Page Park holding 2 shots, Fry's skip got the contact on the shot bowl, attempting to move the jack to the waiting Fry's bowls, but got the wrong side of the bowl, keeping the jack amongst the Page Park bowls giving Page Park the final two points. Fry's stayed top of the table with 8 points from the 62-30 win, with a top of the table clash with Imperial next week. Scores: Rink 1: 30-9; Rink 2: 19-7; Rink 3: 13-14; Fry's 62-30 Page Park 'B' (8-2).

Rink 1 was a tighter affair as Keynsham pulled back the early deficit, but a composed final half saw Fry's pull away wrapping the rink with an end to spare. BIG WIN AS FRY'S TAKE ALL 10
Henleaze 'B' made the trip to Somerdale in Fry's third game of the Bristol and District League. Both teams had a rink take the early advantage almost mirroring each other. After the opening ends, this continued as the other side would find their way back into the game. With rink 2 tight, the game was finely poised at the halfway stage. Fry's started to pull away, but Henleaze closed the gap again, only for Fry's to make a late surge to take a commanding 71-48 win with all 10 points to see Fry's into second in the league.
